Territory Manager (Affirmative Measures – First Nations) • Unique opportunity to directly shape the NDIS participant experience in the NT• Work with Remote and Very Remote communities including First Nations People• SES Band 1. Affirmative measures role open to First Nations PeopleAbout the role The Territory Manager Northern Territory is responsible for:Setting and delivering a clear work program and operational priorities across urban and remote areas to ensure the NDIS supports Territorians with disability. Leading, enabling and motivating a dispersed, multi-disciplinary team to fulfil their roles to a high standard – ensuring that team members are equipped with the necessary resources and support. Driving quality service delivery across the NT - with close attention to participant experience and staff productivity. Ensuring the integrity of work undertaken within the NT, with attention to doing the right work, the right way – in line with Agency guidance and requirements. Building and maintaining strong, productive stakeholder networks including within the community, Commonwealth, Territory and local governments, and the disability sector. Using sound judgement and making effective decisions that utilise Agency resources to best effect. Contributing to whole-of-Agency deliverables through active engagement across the NDIA. Service Delivery’s NT Branch has a critical focus on the NDIS participant experience in the NT and is responsible for the delivery of quality planning outcomes. This includes supporting work to improve the delivery of the NDIS in NT’s remote communities, and to First Nations participants.This position is an affirmative measures First Nations role. Affirmative measures allow a particular job in the Australian Public Service (APS) to be open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons.About you You are a strong leader with a passion for working with people with disability, supporting choice and control and the provision of equitable, appropriate support services.You are an authentic and energetic leader with extensive senior operational leadership experience and excellent people skills. You excel in setting work programs and priorities, leading and maximising the potential from a very diverse team delivering operational activities.You have demonstrated experience working with remote and very remote communities, with a deep understanding of life in RVR locations including First Nations peoples.You have a proven track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders. Your strategic focus enables you to set and communicate the strategic direction for your team, ensuring the delivery of outcomes.You possess a proven ability to navigate complexity and demonstrate integrity, drive, and resilience in dynamic and personally challenging environments.You understand that we put participants at the heart of everything we do. You further understand that for the Scheme to succeed, it is critical that we listen to and work with our participants, their families and carers and the disability community to make sure each improvement is a step in the right direction and the Scheme is available for generations to come.About the NDIA The NDIA’s role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.The NDIA is an independent statutory agency which operates within a legislative and regulatory environment.
