Role Purpose: As a Town Planner, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality town planning projects that meet client expectations and contribute to the development of thriving communities. Your role will involve working alongside senior planners, liaising with clients and authorities, preparing planning reports, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Adhere to the organization’s Code of Conduct and policies to maintain a high standard of professionalism. Prepare town planning reports, manage deadlines, and contribute to project outcomes. Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to manage and deliver projects. Engage with clients and approval authorities to ensure successful project outcomes. Assist in the preparation of proposals and job cost estimates. Work effectively within deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients, consultants, and relevant stakeholders. Comply with WHS and organizational requirements at all times. Selection Criteria: Relevant tertiary qualification in Urban or Town Planning (or equivalent discipline). Understanding of both strategic and statutory planning and related legislation. Awareness of environmental issues and a willingness to expand skills in this area. Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including councils and developers. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. Experience with GIS (or willingness to learn). Current driver’s license. Work Environment: This position will be based in a professional office environment, with the possibility of fieldwork in both urban and remote areas. The role may require local travel, as well as occasional out-of-area or overnight trips.
