About the Role: Are you ready to power up your career? We’re looking for a dynamic Trading Analyst to join our team at our Brisbane City Office. Your role will be to analyse the national electricity market to understand supply, demand, competitor strategies, and transmission constraints. You will also play a critical role in providing analytical support to the Trading & Development team and regularly report on market conditions and performance outcomes, such as Gross Margin. Reporting to the Manager – Spot Trading & Analytics, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Monitor and analyse supply, demand, and competitor strategies within the National Electricity Market Identify and evaluate transmission constraints and market dynamics Develop and maintain financial and market models to forecast market trends and performance Provide comprehensive analytical support to the Trading & Development team and insights to the broader business Prepare and present regular reports on market conditions and Gross Margin performance outcomes Requirements: Proven analytical and quantitative skills, with educational backgrounds in Physics, Advanced Mathematics, Statistics, or Quantitative Methods Strong interpersonal skills Strong IT skills or ability to quickly learn new languages Ability to analyse large amounts of information promptly Timely and well-considered decision-making AFMA Accreditation highly regarded Experience in a trading environment, especially within the electricity industry SQL (Oracle, Microsoft) development skills highly regarded Experience in complex analytical roles Why Join Us?
