NSW Health Pathology is currently seeking a resilient, passionate, and dedicated individual who wants to gain experience in our Haematology and Transfusion Laboratories, at Westmead Health Precinct.Ideally, you have successfully completed your first year, enrolled part-time in a BSc degree comprising of Haematology and Transfusion relevant subjects.We are currently seeking a Trainee for a 4-day appointment as a Trainee Hospital Scientist for up to two years; however, you will receive 12-month appointments to align with university. You will receive first-hand training and experience within our busy Haematology and Transfusion laboratories. Willingness to learn all aspects of the laboratory environment relevant to the laboratory. Demonstrated verbal and written communication and consultation skills. Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively in a values-based team environment to achieve quality outcomes. Excellent data entry skills including high attention to detail and data accuracy. Awareness of legislation, policies, and requirements relevant to a pathology laboratory setting. Willing to study part-time and work 4 days per week for the duration of the traineeship.
