A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for a Transmission Lines Field Engineer. This role will see you take the lead within the Field Engineering team, being a key technical interface between AusNet’s regulated Transmission lines assets and the Transmission Asset Management group. You will utilise your significant technical knowledge and experience to advance AusNet’s Transmission lines asset intelligence. This role is based in Southbank (however the role location can be split amongst Malvern &/or Southbank and this can be discussed with the preferred candidate). The role is part of the Filed Engineering team within our Transmission line of business. This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Support for periodic inspection, preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance strategies, procedures and protocols Forensic analysis of asset condition and component defect Structural defect analysis and management including bent members Management of Lindsey Emergency Restoration Systems including designs Management of, and recommendations into soxing works Transmission Line Condition Assessment (CA) management Technical guidance and advice for field work groups on Transmission Lines asset equipment Liaison/feedback into track and easement management Liaison/feedback into vegetation management Improving processes around Transmission line asset defect rectification Collaborate with other teams to monitor, analyse and track lines assets and to develop lines assets contingency plans, spares strategies and policies Responsible for assisting professional engineers in the development of high-level line designs, and other project activities Identify opportunities to introduce innovation and new technologies into operational practices You don’t need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Engineering or significant demonstrated transmission lines experience CP Eng (preferred), CIGRE if appropriate, Victoria Professional Engineers Registration Experience within utility industry with depth and breadth of knowledge in all aspects of transmission lines up to 500kV Experience in the principles of strategic asset management and knowledge of contemporary asset management systems preferred Committed to the safety of the community as a whole and employees engaged in the provision of services Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and lead initiatives to successfully deliver business outcomes High-level of consulting, influencing interpersonal and communication skills, and driven to achieve results A real place to belong.
