Transport Manager - Southern Region Metro Concrete Division Heidelberg Materials Australia is a leading supplier of construction materials, recognized for our commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Transport Manager to join our Southern Region Metro Concrete division in Melbourne. Key Responsibilities: Fleet Management : Oversee a fleet of 150-200 trucks across the Melbourne metro plant network, managing both company and owner drivers, focusing on safety, professionalism, and efficiency. Collaboration : Work as part of the Melbourne Metro RMX team to deliver to a diverse range of customers with different service needs. Strategic Support : Contribute to our four key strategic pillars:- Be valued by our customers- Keep people safe- Operational excellence- Invest in our future Culture & People Focus : Build strong relationships with drivers and teams, implement culture-building initiatives, and lead a transport team that embodies the values of Care, Collaborate, and Ownership. Safety : Ensure compliance with internal and external standards (National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme, Fleet Audits, Workplace Health & Safety, Chain of Responsibility), and lead safety initiatives including IRIS management and incident management. Process Improvement : Guide production managers on best practices, manage fleet P&L, ensure timely and accurate driver payments, and drive fleet efficiency through operational improvements.
