Transport Officer & Administration Officer - Aboriginal Identified Note: This is an Identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People. Aboriginality is a genuine qualification authorised under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination ACT 1977. Employment Type: Casual Location: Wellington NSW Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation that aims to empower Aboriginal people to take control of their individual, family, and community health and wellbeing needs through our clinical and community programs. The Transport & Admin Officer will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support, advocate and liaise for the Wellington community within the Clinic environment. The position provides the first point of contact for clients entering the clinic. It is responsible for a high level of customer service, processing appointments and client data, and primarily provides transport services to assist the day-to-day operations of the clinic and health program. Key Responsibilities: Maintain the privacy and dignity of clients at all times. Act with tact and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive information. Work within strict confidentiality guidelines, ensuring all personnel and/or client information is kept secure. Provide a high level of customer service at the front desk. Promptly and professionally answer and transfer phone calls. Coordinate clinic appointments, update Communicare, and coordinate phone triage as required. Provide reports as required. Understand the issues that impact Aboriginal people and communities. Ensure compliance with EEO, WH&S, and Ethical Work Practices. Timely pick-up and transport of clients to/from hospitals and homes as scheduled. Perform emergency pick-ups of clients as directed. Timely delivery and pick-up of medications, pathology, supplies, and equipment as directed. Maintain a log/record of all journeys and pick-ups. Responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and reporting of any damage to the vehicle. Ensure log books are used daily. Operate the vehicle and use the petrol card in line with WACHS procedures. Assist in maintaining the WACHS fleet and arrange servicing as required. Experience, Qualifications & Licenses: A Certificate of Aboriginality. A Current National Police Check. A Current Working With Children Check NSW. Current Australian Driver’s License. COVID-19 Vaccination and Booster information (or evidence of a valid medical exemption). Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with local Aboriginal people. Computer skills, including experience with patient appointment programs and patient information recall systems. Willingness to undertake professional training and development to support the Medical Receptionist roles and responsibilities. Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and history, and current issues affecting Aboriginal people. Previous experience as an Administrator. #J-18808-Ljbffr
