Project Manager - Freight & Logistics (Oil & Gas, Mining, Oversized Transport) This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and driven logistics professional with experience in Oil & Gas, Mining, or Oversized Transport. If you have a passion for project management, a proactive mindset, and the expertise to accurately quote and plan freight loads, from single oversized cargo movements to complex, multi-load freight projects, this is your chance to take ownership and make a real impact.Your day to day role will involve managing both end to end general and project forwarding operations while maintaining and developing relationships with our valued clients, service providers, and other key internal and external stakeholders. With a strong background in linehaul transport, you will determine when to utilise internal company assets versus subcontracting for unique projects, such as ultra heavy, wide, or over dimensional loads requiring pilot or push vehicles.We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team, ideally based in Perth, though Melbourne and Adelaide applicants will also be considered. With a main focus on Oil & Gas, Mining, and Oversized Transport, this role requires someone who truly understands in gauge and out of gauge freight, subcontractor engagement, complex logistics solutions and the nuances and intricacies housed within.Key Responsibilities: Accurately quote and plan freight solutions for diverse projects, including hotshot loads, oversized cargo, and large scale multi load moves Evaluate and determine whether to use internal company assets or external subcontractors for heavy haulage and specialised transport needs Develop and execute customised transport strategies that optimise cost effectiveness and operational efficiency and exceed customer expectations Maintain strong relationships with service providers, vendors, key internal and external stakeholders in this fast paced and hands on role Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies Oversee transport systems for accurate tracking, reporting, and forecasting Stay updated on industry trends to keep GKR at the forefront of best practices Take ownership of P&L responsibilities and manage budgets effectively.
