The Infrastructure & Property team delivers the core services that rate payers expect (and government mandates). These include roading, water services, parks and reserves, solid waste, emergency management, and the management of property holdings. Reporting to the Transportation Asset Planning Manager, you will provide high-quality activity management planning input and performance reporting with up-to-date supporting data to help achieve the success of council's Transportation service activities and initiatives. You will also implement best practices for transportation asset management, assist in identifying improvements needed for all transportation modes, coordinate project scoping, concept design, and cost estimates for capital projects, and play a key supporting role in transport funding and budget management. Responsibilities The Asset Management Team is responsible for ensuring the success of Council's roading and transport activities across the district through their broad view and robust planning programmes. Your strong analytical skills with attention to detail will support Council's overall goals and ensure the success of the district's roading and transport activities. The Transportation Asset Planning Analyst works closely with the growth and development team and the transportation delivery team to plan for and monitor progress across the Transportation Activity. This is a role that brings the desires of the community, long-term management of infrastructure growth demands, and operational challenges together. About You To be successful in this role, you will be analytical and pragmatic with the ability to identify problems and gaps, figure out why, and execute on solutions with confidence and pace. Our successful candidate will have the following: At least 5 years' experience working in engineering asset management or transport planning. Tertiary training in engineering, planning, or construction management of civil infrastructure. Familiarity with Activity Management Plans, Business Cases, Strategies, and Policies. Ability to consider a range of information and provide advice in a sound and considered manner. Advanced experience of working with RAMM and Excel. Sound financial knowledge including budget development and monitoring. Commitment to detail and processes, including those prescribed by Waka Kotahi.
