Position Summary The Vendor Manager - Leather is responsible for managing strategic partnerships with external leather vendors, ensuring that quality, cost, reliability and standards meet R.M.Williams' strategic requirements. Key Responsibilities Source and evaluate leather vendors based on quality, reliability, pricing, and ethical standards. Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to ensure cost-effective procurement and supply. Negotiate favorable terms and contracts while maintaining strong vendor relationships. Collaborate with quality control to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Monitor inventory levels, optimise supply, and assess vendor performance for cost and efficiency improvements. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, ethical sourcing practices, and workplace safety policies. Experience / Technical Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or professional certification preferred (e.g., CSCP, CPSM). Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or in senior procurement roles within a manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders; successful track record in supplier relationship management. In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, contract management, and supply chain practices. Good technical knowledge of leather goods and materials will be highly advantageous. Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and procurement software (e.g. SAP, Infor) for informed decision-making. Excellent written and verbal communication; adept at cross-departmental collaboration. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure.
