About the role: The Program Director portion of this role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all the projects that the local technology team are involved in to ensure they align with the strategic goals and objectives of the local Oceania Branch, ASO and MUFG. This role involves managing cross-project activities, developing project & program critical path and dependencies, as well as managing deadlines, budgets, and all other project activities to ensure the successful delivery of ASOO (Asia Systems Office Oceania) portfolio outcomes. The Business Solutions Manager portion of the role will serve as a liaison between the Oceania business unit leads and the local and regional ASO Teams. This role will be accountable for understanding the business requirements and strategies of the various business units and ensuring these requirements are appropriately represented back into ASO. The role will partner with the regional Asia Systems Office (ASO) management and leadership team to ensure ASO procedures and policies are adhered to, and to ensure that local progress and delivery status are correctly reported to the region. The role will have a direct reporting line to the ASOO Department Head of Technology, as well as a dotted reporting line to the Regional ASO Department Head of Systems Planning Department. The role is expected to have approximately 5 reports. What you’ll be doing: Identify, assess, and prioritise potential demand for the ASO / ASOO teams, ensuring appropriate visibility of current and future demand is provided to both the local ASOO Department Head of Technology, as well as the ASO Department Head of Systems Planning. Establish local technology project / program governance, working groups, and communication with stakeholders across the portfolio of projects and programs that the ASOO / ASO team are involved in. Drive planning at the various organisational levels to ensure program and projects are on tracked and resourced appropriately. Provide detailed forecasting of FTE and Budget requirements, based on future demand. Contribute to executive-level updates on strategy, budget, project delivery, controls, and risks, at both the local Oceania Branch level as well as the Regional ASO level. Lead the planning of the systems investment budget for the Oceania region by understanding and forecasting the demand from the Oceania Business Units. Coordinate budget review and allocation and track the utilisation of budget. Ensure appropriate Gyokei and Ringi processes are followed and prepare relevant reporting on status to both the local Oceania Branch, as well as the Regional ASO management. Work with the local Oceania business stakeholders to understand demand and to assist with planning and tracking investment and project opportunities as appropriate. Work with regional (and other) MUFG teams to represent Oceania for projects that are being run remotely but require input from the Oceania ASO teams. Coordinate with various business and technology stakeholders to ensure project alignment with both business and technology strategies. Provide and track the technology project plan deliverables to the Business Project Manager on programs of work that are managed by the business but have technology deliverables. Ensure all deliverable schedules, risks, issues, and financial tracking are understood and effectively communicated to the relevant stakeholders. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in business units in the organisation. Lead the Systems Planning Department in Oceania with local reporting accountability to the Head of Oceania Systems, as well as a dotted accountability to the regional Head of Systems Planning. Manage a team of approximately 5 people, ensuring they have the appropriate skills and resources available to enable deliverables to be met. Noting that the size of the team will flex depending on the portfolio of work in-flight at any given time. Manage dependencies across the program of work to proactively coordinate effort across teams to ensure resources are available to resolve issues and mitigate risks. Create a framework of portfolio management and governance that meets the requirements of the local Oceania business, as well as meeting the regional ASO requirements. Where required, provide hands on project management of specific projects, working with the relevant business and technology stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Act as a backfill for the ASOO Systems Planning Manager whilst they are on parental leave, ensuring all tasks and accountabilities from this role are effectively managed and delivered. What we are looking for: At least 10 years’ experience within the local Oceania financial and banking industry, with knowledge of local regulatory authorities, such as APRA, ASIC, RBNZ etc. Demonstrated experience and successful delivery of technology solutions and standards to adhere to regulatory requirements such as CPS234, as well as adhering to project management disciplines as specified by the bank. Demonstrated experience at managing complex portfolios of projects, with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities and make effective decisions to ensure delivery success. Strong background in financial markets and institutional banking, with experience at working with local Oceania regulatory authorities. Strong understanding of data, data lineage, data quality, and the technology controls required to manage data. Strong analytical and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with teams across different geographical locations, and across all levels of the organisation. Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to clearly challenge process and decisions, as well as to set new standards to ensure best practices are always followed. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, with effective communication of relevant issues and risks. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, and professional project management qualifications.
