WHS / Injury Management Officer - Level 5 - January 2025 $49.28 to $98.56 (Sunday rate) per hour + super 9 day fortnight with 1 RDO (67.5 hours per fortnight) Free onsite parking and close to public transport. South West Community Care is a not-for-profit Organisation and Registered Charity local to the South West, providing aged care and in-home services to the local community. It is managed by a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who is supported by a Chief Governance Officer and Management Team overseeing operations and supporting a team of over 120 employees and volunteers. Position Purpose Reporting to the Organisational Development Manager, this role will assist in building WHS capacity across the organisation through investigating incidents and developing hazard controls, overseeing emergency procedures, supporting the delivery of WHS training and providing specialist advice to employees. You will monitor and administer SWCC’s WHS and Risk framework, ensuring a safe and compliant environment for the organisation. You will be assisting in the building, embedding and monitoring of risk management and compliance frameworks. Roll out and facilitate safety training programs. Educate line managers regarding their role and responsibilities in ensuring the safety of their employees. Driving and maintaining a positive safety culture across all sites. Position Responsibilities As an WHS / Injury Management Officer you will be responsible for and assist with: Health & Safety - Monitor and interpret legislation, regulations and other agreements relating to occupational health and safety, workers compensation and rehabilitation. Undertake health and safety investigations and inspection processes and ensure outcomes are acted upon. Project Management - Undertake responsibility for a moderately complex project, including planning, co-ordination, implementation and administration. Training & Education – Roll out and facilitate safety training programs. Educate line managers regarding their role and responsibilities in ensuring the safety of their employees. Accuracy and Confidentiality - Maintaining accurate records and ensuring confidentiality. To thrive in this role you will have: Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety, or have relevant demonstrated experience. Demonstrated ability to write quality reports, perform data analysis, assist in the review and implementation of policies and procedures, train staff on WHS processes. Experienced in conducting workplace inspections, leading incident investigations, writing reports and presenting findings to Executive level management. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice. Demonstrated Return to Work (RTW) and Injury Management (IM) experience. Experience in workplace health & safety, workers compensation management and fitness for work. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft 365 and WHS Applications. Time management and organisational skills with ability to prioritise work tasks and meet deadlines.
