We are looking for a hands-on Workplace Health and Safety all-rounder, who knows what best practice safety looks like and is passionate about driving it. If you are ready to transition into the role of Workplace Health and Safety Manager, we are looking for you! You will report to the Operations Manager as well as working with other Managers, supervisors, and staff across the organisation. Remember – we are a family, and we want you to be a part of it. You will create a human face to WHS. We live our values and want this role to help foster them across the business from a WHS aspect. Working out of our Tullamarine or Truganina branch - your choice! Champion the cause of creating and sustaining a culture of safety. Provide health & safety guidance and direction to everyone in the organisation. You’ll be the subject matter expert in terms of WHS for the entire organisation. Identify WHS training needs/requirements, Safe Operating Procedures (SOP) and work with our internal training team to plan and deliver. Be across all the relevant WHS legislation for Australia and New Zealand. Support continuous development and improvement of the Integrated Management Systems (IMS) by working closely with our IMS team to make sure our WHS requirements are the best you can make them. Maintain risk management processes and controls across all areas of the business in line with the IMS. Monitor and analyse Workcover claims and incident reports to develop appropriate responses, plans and outcomes. Remember – we want our family to be safe! Co-ordinate Workcover and return-to-work program/claims using your well-honed RTW skills. Keep us updated via weekly and monthly reports with supporting data. Chair Workplace Health & Safety Advocates meetings. Manage internal and external WHS audit preparation activities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements for relevant legal, regulatory and company standards. Manage relationships with external service providers. Keep all our WHS records updated and secure. It might be a boring part of the job – but it is important! To be successful, you will have; Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety or related discipline, and/or equivalent work experience. Experience in Risk Management, Injury Management and Return to Work software. Solid experience in managing ISO45001 National WHS guidelines. A working knowledge of ISO 14001 and 9001 would be great too. Sound knowledge and understanding in relevant WHS/injury management acts, regulations and standards across Australia and New Zealand. Ideally, experience with dangerous goods, warehousing, and transport industries. Great organisation, because at times the work will come thick and fast, and you’ll need to keep up. Fantastic communication, interpersonal and influencing skills. The ability to know when to keep a secret, a secret. The desire to resolve challenges under pressure, meet deadlines. The ability to travel inter and intra state with overnight stays. Shortlisted candidates will need to do a few checks like medical, police and driving history.
