This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in driving a positive and proactive safety culture across our operations. About the Role: This dynamic role demands a proactive and results-oriented individual with a strong operational focus. You will partner closely with operational leaders, providing expert guidance and support to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and McMahon's HSE policies and procedures. What You Will Do: Champion McMahon's HSE Culture: Lead by example, foster a positive safety culture, and actively engage stakeholders in HSE initiatives. Drive Operational Excellence: Implement and maintain an integrated HSE Management System. Conduct proactive risk assessments and implement effective controls. Ensure Exceptional HSE Performance: Oversee incident investigations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industry best practices. Develop and Mentor: Develop and deliver training programs. Coach and mentor managers and supervisors on HSE best practices. Support the development of HSE management capability. Promote Wellbeing: Assist in implementing workplace wellbeing strategies and promote a healthy and supportive work environment. Manage Claims & Compliance: Manage Workers Compensation claims and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation. Support National WHSEQ Functions: Act as 2IC to the National WHSEQ Manager, support WHSEQ initiatives, and assist project teams with HSE requirements. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers. What you will bring: Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (minimum Diploma level). Minimum 7 years of experience in a senior HSE role within a construction or heavy industry environment. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Proven experience in implementing and maintaining best practice HSE programs within a large, complex organisation. Strong understanding of Australian WHS and environmental legislation. Experience in managing stakeholders (internal and external). Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software. What will set you apart: Certified Integrated Management System (IMS) Auditor. Incident Lead Investigator trained (ICAM preferred).
