We’re looking for a qualified Work Health & Injury Prevention Advisor with recent experience in the development and management of tailored injury management and return to work plans which consider and balance both employee and employer needs. You can expect to utilise your expertise in mental health to support psychosocial wellbeing strategies and drive psychosocial workplace safety initiatives including the delivery of mental health first aid training.(Licensing as a MHFA will be supported). You will be a clear communicator able to convey initiatives and recommendations using effective and accessible messaging. A pro-active view of problem solving is essential, along with an empathetic and non-judgemental approach to supporting both employees and programs. You must be skilled at building and maintaining strong relationships with employees and managers at all levels of the organisation, with experience working with a range of diverse stakeholders. What can you expect to be doing? As Work Health & Injury Prevention Advisor, you’ll be responsible for: Providing recovery and return to work services, including initial contact with injured/ill employees which includes the development of Recovery and Return to Work Plans / Wellbeing Plans. Working closely with the Injury Management Team / People & Culture Team to support with the development and implementation of recovery and remain/return to work supports. Provide advice to and support Safety Business Partners with Early Injury Intervention Program (pre-claims) and supports employees/managers in completing claim lodgement process where applicable. Work closely with the Claims Consultant from a Recovery and Return to Work perspective. Providing expert advice and guidance on employee wellbeing, injury prevention initiatives and psychological hazards. Implementing continuous improvement of injury prevention resource information, safety training modules and providing recommendations on risks. Proactively contributing to Self-insurance including injury management & WHS performance standards and the SQRA Operational Business Plan. What do you need to bring? A relevant tertiary qualification in Allied Health such as bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field with a strong emphasis on psychological health. A relevant qualification in Rehabilitation Counselling will also be considered. Proven experience in Vocational Rehabilitation areas will be highly regarded Proven experience in identifying and addressing psychological factors impacting work performance and safety. Ability to identify and address risks associated with incidents and employees, including analysing health and safety data and trends, and developing appropriate strategies to mitigate risk. Demonstrable understanding of employee wellbeing and injury prevention best practice, including knowledge of relevant legislation. Effective and empathetic negotiation, conflict resolution and mediation skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build trust and cooperation with managers, workers and external stakeholders. Experience in Self-insurance is desirable. Who is AnglicareSA?
