The position is responsible for leading and managing the Work Health and Safety (WHS) portfolio throughout Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) and in various other services nearby, acting as a consultancy service to the Executive, managers, and staff, promoting and increasing awareness of WHS. This role is also responsible for the initiation, development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive WHS program, as well as providing data and analysis of the program’s effectiveness and implementing appropriate prevention strategies. The Work Health and Safety Manager is responsible for a direct report, the Manual Handling Coordinator. Ideal Candidate Currently holds tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety (WHS) and/or significant experience working at a senior level in this specialist area. Able to plan, implement, and evaluate strategies to manage WHS issues, including risk-management strategies and audit programs. Has detailed knowledge of all relevant NSW Work Health and Safety legislation, Dangerous Goods regulations, and NSW Health Standards and codes. Benefits and Perks!
