An exciting opportunity exists for a Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of WHS policies, risk management strategies, and safety initiatives. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety legislation while fostering a strong safety culture across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Safety Policy Development & Compliance – Develop, review, and update WHS policies and procedures in line with legislative requirements. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance. Risk Management – Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies. Maintain and manage the organisation’s risk register. Incident Management – Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses. Prepare detailed reports and oversee the implementation of corrective actions to prevent future risks. Training & Development – Design and deliver WHS training programs for employees and contractors. Provide guidance to managers and ensure competency in safe work practices. Stakeholder Engagement – Act as the primary point of contact for WHS-related matters, liaising with government bodies, industry associations, and internal stakeholders. Emergency Preparedness – Develop and maintain emergency response plans, coordinate drills, and ensure emergency equipment is functional and accessible. Performance Reporting – Analyse WHS data, report on trends, and provide insights to senior management to drive continuous safety improvements. Qualifications & Skills: Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health and Safety or a related field. Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management, and compliance frameworks. Certification in incident investigation (e.g., ICAM) is desirable. First Aid and CPR certification preferred. Proven experience conducting risk assessments and incident investigations. Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills. Proficiency in WHS management systems and reporting tools. What’s on Offer?
