This temporary full-time role involves conducting Work Health and Safety checks, maintaining compliance records, managing chemical safety, and driving Work Health and Safety initiatives across the school. This role is offered until 12 December 2025, unless otherwise determined. About the Role As the Workplace Health and Safety Advisor, you will contribute to maintaining safe workshop environments while supporting WHS compliance across the school. Your role will focus on safety management, procedural development, and ensuring the health and safety of all staff and students. You will also assist with whole-school WHS initiatives to promote a safe and compliant learning environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conduct proactive risk assessments and inspections across the school to identify potential hazards and unsafe practices. Develop, implement, and review safety procedures for Industrial Technologies, including safe operating procedures (SOPs), risk assessments (CARAs, PERAs, EMRs), and the handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and materials. Maintain a safe and secure environment for students and staff by overseeing workshop cleanliness, organisation, and safe storage of hazardous substances and tools. Develop, promote, and coordinate health and safety training programs to ensure awareness and compliance with legislative and departmental requirements. Operate, maintain, and ensure the safety of Industrial Technologies equipment, including tools, machinery, laser cutting, and 3D printing systems, ensuring compliance with operational and safety standards. Support and advise teaching staff on safety measures and best practices for the use of workshop equipment and materials, demonstrating safe handling and maintenance procedures.
