Rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Bore Runner / Machinery Operator to join NAPCo's Crew at the picturesque Glenormiston Station, NT. 23rd January, 2025 About NAPCo The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading beef cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of Australia's First Carbon Neutral Beef - Five Founders. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 14 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.Glenormiston Station, QLD Glenormiston Station is a 692,000 hectare property located in the QLD Channel country of the Donohue highway approximately 5 hours southwest of Mount Isa. Glenormiston operates as a breeding property, breeding and growing weaners for consignment to NAPCo’s Wainui Feedlot. The homestead is situated on Lake Idamea, providing a unique station lifestyle experience.The role The Bore Runner / Machinery Operator reports to the Station Manager and is responsible for maintaining water supplies and associated infrastructure for livestock across the station. A varied role where you will split your time across Bore Running and Machinery Operations maintaining property roads, undertaking property maintenance, drainage works, erosion control, and assisting the crew when needed with ad-hoc general station duties.Day to day duties include, but are not limited to: Operating Grader to maintain roads, drainage works, and erosion control Machinery operations for property maintenance Maintaining machinery in good working order Undertaking mechanical prestart and general maintenance Monitoring and maintaining water supplies and associated infrastructure for livestock Checking on stock Maintaining fences Working alone and unsupervised Performing your job safely and operating equipment in a safe manner Undertaking ad hoc varied station tasks as required Ideally the successful candidate will: Have experience working as a Bore Runner or similar Have experience operating a Grader, Loader, Dozer, and other machinery Have good mechanical knowledge of equipment desirable Hold a current C class driver's licence Be a self-starter that is able to work autonomously and unsupervised Prior mechanical experience would be highly regarded Be committed to working safely in accordance with NAPCo's HSE policies and procedures Employee benefits Permanent full-time position Onsite single air-conditioned accommodation A competitive day rate, generous annual leave entitlements, season completion bonus We invest heavily in on-the-job training and all staff are offered and encouraged to complete a traineeship in Agriculture.
