Our client is seeking a Policy Manager, a critical thinker with strong communication skills and a keen interest in advocating and improving knowledge and awareness within the community, public sector and government. This role is an opportunity to contribute significantly to the importance of information rights as human rights and transparency, accountability and integrity as critical components of a modern democracy. The opportunity is initially for a 3-month period, with the high possibility of further extension. What you'll do: As a Policy Manager, you will be at the forefront of providing strategic legislative and policy advice. You will undertake research, analyse risks, prepare detailed reports, submissions, briefings, and correspondences on complex legislative matters. Your role will also involve liaising with various public sector agencies regarding policy projects. You will have the opportunity to represent the Commissioners at meetings, forums with stakeholders, and parliamentary committees. Provide strategic and authoritative policy advice on complex and emerging legislative and policy issues. Undertake research, monitor risks and options, prepare submissions, briefings, reports and correspondence on complex legislative issues. Prepare submissions and correspondence on behalf of the Information Commissioner. Support Commissioners in appearances before parliamentary committees. Liaise with public sector agencies regarding policy projects. Participate in projects to contribute to the achievement of strategic goals. Represent the Commissioners at meetings and forums with stakeholders. What you bring: As a Policy Manager, your strong communication skills will be key in advocating for information privacy and access to information issues. Your ability to provide strategic legislative and policy advice will be crucial in this role. You bring experience in undertaking research, analysing complex legislative issues, preparing detailed reports, submissions, briefings, and correspondences. Your ability to liaise with various public sector agencies will be highly valued. Your experience in representing at meetings and forums will be beneficial.
