Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker - Advanced (Mental Health) $75 090 - $103 261 per annum + 12.75% super Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be an Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community About SMHRU The new SMHRU unit offers mental health rehabilitation services for individuals needing extended inpatient care in a secure environment. Our focus is on autonomy, self-determination, and working collaboratively towards independent living. All consumers are over 18 years of age. About Your New Role Are you passionate about advocating for mental health services and promoting respectful inclusion? A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker – Advanced (Identified) to join our team. Our new facility aims to provide world-class, compassionate, person-centered mental health care that supports the recovery of consumers, families, and carers. Key Responsibilities Deliver a range of evidence-based interventions in a culturally safe, professional and effective manner Utilise lived experience and knowledge of family kinship culture, practices and protocols to provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers with a culturally informed approach Collaborate on assessment, care coordination, intake and discharge Support and advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers and families Link community outreach and primary health/Social and Emotional Wellbeing pathways Qualifications To be successful in this position you will require: Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community While not mandatory, a Certificate IV or Diploma in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care, Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, or Mental Health Peer Work is required for pay point progression Drivers Licence Blue Card / Working with Children check (GCH will cover cost) Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost) Experience and high level of knowledge of Microsoft Office Products will be highly regarded Benefits of Working with Gold Coast Health Salary Packaging Brand new facility with modern amenities Diverse Work Culture 12.75% super 17.5% leave loading Permanent full time Base salary ranging from $75 090 - $103 261 per annum How to Apply Click APPLY to submit your application by Tuesday, 4 March 2025 Gold Coast Health is committed to providing an accessible, inclusive work environment.
