Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this position will coordinate the daily operations and drive strategic objectives of the accounts payable cycle, leveraging your expertise to design, implement, and manage robust processes and procedures that elevate the AP function to new heights.The position will be based in our Footscray office with work from home arrangements and flexibility to work from our other Annecto offices, with a minimum of 2-3 days in the office required. This position is classified at Level 5 under the SCHADS award.Key responsibilities Manage and develop the AP team, including capability building and continuous improvement initiatives. Act as an AP subject matter expert, aligning services with operational outcomes and collaborating with operational managers. Align AP team objectives with finance department goals. Ensure compliance with invoice/contract requirements, internal authorisations, and ABN/GST checks. Oversee accurate coding, reconciliation, and timely payment of invoices. Support month-end closing deadlines and assist the AP team during this period. Provide support for the purchasing function. Foster effective communication across the AP team, finance department, and other organisational areas. Prepare monthly AP balance sheet reconciliations and analyse Aged Creditors reports. Lead system improvements, including policy documentation, change management, and workflow optimisation with our finance system Technology One. Undertake finance projects, audits and perform ad hoc tasks as needed. Key selection criteria (essential) Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable team leadership role. A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is highly desirable, equivalent experience will also be considered. Strong knowledge and experience using accounting software, Technology One is advantageous but not essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills for vendor and internal stakeholder interactions. Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite with intermediate/advanced MS Excel skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment. Strong team leadership and management experience. Demonstrated change management experience within a finance function. Demonstrated capacity for analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving. Nice to have (not essential) Experience working in a not-for-profit and/or aged care and disability sectors. Experience using Alayacare software is advantageous but not essential. What we have to offer NFP Salary Packaging - $15,900 p.a. + $2,650 meals and entertainment. Hybrid working arrangements requiring a minimum of two days in the office, we strongly encourage three days, this may be subject to change in the future.
