Canberra preferred but any AMSA office location considered Ongoing ABOUT THE ROLE As the Advisor, Response Policy you will build expertise and strong relationships to support the NATSAR Council and National Plan. You’ll lead secretariat functions, develop strategic policy advice, and oversee administrative operations. This role requires a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement and the ability to drive key initiatives. You will be responsible for being organised and detail focussed. You will be responsible for: building significant expertise and relationships to allow effective contribution to development of meeting papers, presentations and other documents. supporting the delivery of secretariat services, by providing direction and advice as required. contributing to development of strategic policy advice. support delivery of the NATSAR Council project plan and review of the National Plan. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience: demonstrated experience in policy analysis and development. demonstrated experience in problem solving and communication, both verbal and written. demonstrated experience as a highly effective team member. demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to build effective working relationships, harness diverse ideas and engagement. self‐motivation with a high level of initiative. excellent organisational and time management skills to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced team. strong attention to detail. advanced user of Microsoft Office suite applications. secretariat experience is desirable but not essential. knowledge of AMSA’s regulatory role and function, including legislation is desirable but not essential. demonstrated experience in communicating technical matters with maritime stakeholders is desirable but not essential.
