Northern Beaches Hospital is looking for an experienced Nutrition & Dietetics Department Manager to join our fantastic team, to provide quality health care services to the Northern Beaches community. The Role As the Manager of Nutrition and Dietetics, you will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the team of clinical and food service dietitians as well as have the unique opportunity to impact service development. In this role, you will promote exceptional patient care through facilitating and working to support hospital wide committees and working groups as well as supporting the catering department in the provision of food and nutrition to admitted inpatients. In addition, you will also make an impact by providing direct clinical care to patients thorough nutrition assessment and intervention to patients enabling them to meet their nutritional requirements for recovery and improve their health outcomes. You will: Work alongside the Director of Allied Health to provide comprehensive allied health services to patients of Northern Beaches Hospital Provide leadership and management to a dedicated team of clinical and food service dietitians Participate in strategic planning and service development in an evolving facility Facilitate hospital-wide committees focusing on Nutrition and Food to improve patient outcomes Champion quality and service improvement projects Provide a high standard of clinical care to admitted inpatients, working in partnership with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide assessment and evidence based interventions Provide dietary counseling and education to a variety of different patient populations Provide clinical supervision to all levels of dietetic staff and students on clinical placement Selection Criteria: Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent that meets the requirements for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia Extensive acute care clinical dietetics experience across a range of services (minimum level of experience Level 2, with level 3 experience an advantage); including surgical and medical with highly developed nutritional assessment and dietary counselling skills Experience in strategic planning and service development for Nutrition and Dietetic services Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders Experience in clinical supervision of both staff and students Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and/or service evaluation processes Demonstrated leadership skills within a dietetic team Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice.
