The Operations Centre Manager will lead and oversee the operations centre, ensuring efficient and effective coordination of activities across various teams that connect and deliver results to PacOps sites (mines, refineries, smelters).The role focuses on optimizing operational processes, enhancing productivity, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Operations Centre Manager will lead a skilled team to support decision-making and operational excellence, following the RTSPS mindset. Reporting to the General Manager Integrated Operations , within Rio Tinto Aluminium, you will: Lead a team of operational and technical resources, executing operational plans 24/7 for Mine Control, remote plant control across 3 mines, utilising data and operational knowledge, constraints and relationship to supply chain, ensuring safe operations and influencing operational decisions to drive productivity and ensuring seamless coordination and communication across departments and sites. Responsible for overseeing the team to define and execute stockpile and ports scheduling and optimisation, across 3 ports, ensuring product throughput across the aluminium supply chain. Lead a smelting analyst team, monitoring overall health of reduction line cells across 3 smelters across Pacific Operations, triggering actions with site operations to mitigate operational risk to overall cell life. Drive an integrated and system wide approach for operational performance, pit to port, as well as focus on customer grade requirements and meeting overall customer quality specifications. Develop and drive best practice solutions that enable value based trade-off decisions in response to unplanned events impacting overall supply, across mines, including operational recovery to plan. Work in collaboration with commercial, operations, technical and operational excellence teams to deliver drive continuous efficiency and value improvements for the business, utilising the significant amount of data and systems across the operations, embedding new ways of work. Promote safety awareness, environmentally safe and responsible work practices and compliance with safety systems both in the operations centre and aligned to site safety standards and legislation. Support and control product/key inventories control through real timing data. Align work to Rio Tinto Safe Production Systems practices to become the Best Operator. About You Experience in Operations Centre roles and leading multiskilled teams Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field. Extensive experience in the commodities industry, with a focus on operational and value chain management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Passionate to lead change. Operations management knowledge. Operations efficiency and improvement skills. Experience with S&OP integration and debottlenecking initiatives. Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in complex industrial environments and operations management. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement short and long-term strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Leadership: Strong leadership skills to lead a skilled team to high-value achievements, optimising efficiency and business results. Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analysing complex data and making informed decisions. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and recommendations, connect with multiple stakeholders. Collaboration: Ability to work with multi-skilled teams and collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.
