Your new role AustralianSuper's Real Assets team currently manages over $55 billion of unlisted Infrastructure and Property investments globally across four key sectors: Digital, Energy Transition, Estates and Transport & Logistics. As an Analyst within the Real Assets team, you will assist with a range of investment-related activities, including asset acquisitions and asset management activities for direct infrastructure and property assets. This will involve financial modelling, analytical work, drafting papers and presentations, and working collaboratively with peers and senior colleagues within the Mid Risk Group to share investment insights, technical skills, and support priority activities. This role is based in Melbourne or Sydney. The broad purpose of this position is to: Provide analytical support to underwrite direct M&A transactions and asset management activities within the Real Assets Portfolio predominantly focused in the Asia Pacific region; Support investment analysis and reporting for select Real Assets investments and support asset management activities; Assist in research and strategy initiatives across the Real Assets Portfolio; Assist in the development of junior staff members (graduates and interns) within the Real Assets Portfolio. Your responsibilities will include: Leading the financial modelling workstream and being the primary point of contact for all financial modelling questions from internal and external parties as appropriate; Developing, maintaining and overseeing key financial models that support the delivery of the team's objectives; Monitoring and assessing asset and portfolio performance; Researching and providing insights into new markets/sectors/investment opportunities that will ultimately guide strategy and investment recommendations; Assisting senior colleagues with portfolio and asset reporting; Producing detailed investment valuation analysis for transaction approval papers; Overseeing and reviewing portfolio company performance and annual Business Plans; Ensuring risks are appropriately managed including risk identification and management, risk profiling, and risk reporting. What you'll need Currently an Analyst or equivalent in investment banking, investment management, transaction advisory or internal M&A/Corporate development; Experience with Real Assets direct M&A transactions; Strong experience in financial modelling and Excel skills; Strong presentation skills and capability in using PowerPoint, Excel and Word; Attention to detail and good time management skills.
