About the Unit Infrastructure and Facilities Services (IFS) is responsible for the planning, development and operation of the University’s physical infrastructure and estate. This includes both operational services delivery and the management and upkeep of facilities to support the strategic objectives of the University to meet the needs of students, staff and the University community. IFS delivers comprehensive facilities management to support the teaching and research goals of the University. With a team of over 60 staff, IFS provides a diverse range of services. Be challenged and imagine with us The Asset Planning Analyst plays a critical role in optimising the use of fixed plant and equipment, physical spaces and infrastructure within the University of Newcastle. This position combines analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of facilities management to increase operational efficiency and support business objectives. The ideal candidate will have extensive facilities management experience within large complex organisations, with extensive experience administering current facilities asset management software systems. The Asset Planning Analyst is responsible for supporting the leadership and management of the Campus Services Team with particular emphasis on reporting, analysis, outstanding client service delivery and process improvements associated with the University’s Asset Management plan. How will you inspire us? The successful applicant will have: A degree with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience in fields such as facilities management, project management, engineering, planning or construction management; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Demonstrated experience with long term asset infrastructure planning using multiple software applications and databases. Proven asset, facilities, administrative and financial management experience in a commercially focused and complex environment where a significant volume and value of operational services is demanded. Ability to work collaboratively and bring together people from different areas to participate in School/Division or University-wide initiatives. Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the capacity to think creatively, act strategically and manage change while contributing to the effective management of stakeholder expectations, issues and risks. Strong analytical abilities, including the proven ability to analyze data and evaluate information to be presented to senior leaders.
