The PGI Branch is located in Barton, ACT, however applicants from interstate that demonstrate strong qualities may be considered for flexible or remote working arrangements.This process is being used to fill several vacancies within the PGI Branch and a broader merit pool may be established to fill vacancies across the Executive Coordination Division.About our Team: The PGI Branch within the Executive Coordination Division is a central point of support and oversight for the Department and provides strategic advice and guidance to the Executive and relevant Portfolio Ministers. The PGI Branch is responsible for the strategic coordination of a number of key enterprise performance functions.The Evaluation, Planning and Reporting Section is responsible for ensuring key planning, performance and evaluation processes are embedded in the Department's governance functions with clear lines of responsibilities. The team provides high-level oversight of the Department's strategic priorities and challenges to support greater transparency of program health and supports Government objectives through ministerial reporting. This includes delivery of the Corporate Plan, the Annual Report and the business planning process.The Enterprise Governance Section is responsible for the Committee Governance Framework and the Department's Operating Model. The team manages and supports the Department's strategic-level decision-making bodies and provides advice on strategic governance matters.The Enterprise Risk and Strategic Risk Sections are responsible for ensuring that effective risk management is embedded within the Department, and that the Department is operating in accordance with its defined risk appetite. The teams provide practical and strategic advice and support to the Chief and Deputy Chief Risk Officers, staff and senior leaders across the organisation, and promotes and supports active risk management across the enterprise to maximise opportunities, minimise negative consequences, and enhance successful delivery of the Department's priorities.The Inquiries Section is responsible for ensuring centralised oversight and coordination of the Department, and broader Portfolio's, engagement with Royal Commissions, independent reviews and other non-parliamentary inquiries. The key duties of the position include Specific responsibilities will vary across the teams and may include the following:Common responsibilities Providing leadership, mentoring and commitment to deliver high-quality strategic level, advice, products and outcomes Proactively engaging and building relationships with stakeholders across the Portfolio, including senior executives, to support collaboration and inform decision-making Preparing quality meeting papers and briefs for senior executives Providing strategic advice for senior executives and portfolio ministers informed by a strong understanding of Government and departmental objectives Overseeing records management functions to ensure records are accurate, complete, traceable and managed in accordance with departmental policy. Evaluation, Planning and Reporting Section Leading a small team that collects, analyses and reports on enterprise performance indicators Leading enterprise practices to mature evaluation capability and effectiveness across the Portfolio, and driving organisational improvement Leading the development, publication and monitoring of the Department's Corporate Plan and Annual Report Supporting the development of a mature performance culture through education and training across the organisation Preparing and presenting organisational performance reporting products through consultation with key internal and external stakeholders Continually challenging and introducing innovative ways to enhance organisational performance. Enterprise Governance Section Leading and mentoring a small team that supports multiple high-level governance committees performing general administration and secretariat duties, including responding to governance queries, drafting agendas, developing committee papers, distributing meeting packs and recording and monitoring action items Proactively leading the support of the Department's high-level decision-making committees Providing high-level secretariat support ensuring attention to detail and strategic alignment to facilitate effective enterprise-wide decision-making Providing critical governance advice for the organisation, including proactive engagement, support and training.
