Hay St Market is opening 24 March 2025, and we are looking for experienced Assistant Managers to join our dynamic Pre-Opening Team! This is your chance to play a key role in the creation of Sydney’s newest and vibrant food and retail destination. As the Assistant Manager , you will work closely with the Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the market including food, retail and beverage outlets. Together you will work together to ensure the smooth operation of what will surely become a thriving hotspot in Sydney! Key Responsibilities: Assist in managing daily market operations, including setup, opening/closing procedures and staff coordination Support in cashing-up procedures, sales reporting, and stock management for multiple outlets Stock control and inventory management across all food and retail outlets Support the Operations Manager in managing the markets logistics and ensuring smooth flow of operations and customer traffic Monitor operational standards, cleanliness, safety, and compliance with food and liquor regulations. Ensuring all outlets are delivering exceptional customer service Staff management and support including training, rostering and development Compliance and safety support Who We are Looking For: Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position managing multiple food and retail outlets simultaneously is essential Solid understanding of inventory management and stock control processes Strong leadership and organisational skills with a hands-on approach Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities Strong financial acumen, with experience in cash handling, financial reporting, and reconciliation Why Hay Street Market?
