The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. The Team: The North West Maternity Services (NWMS) is primarily located at the North West Regional Hospital, with satellite and community-based services delivered across Mersey Community Hospital (MCH), King Island District Hospital, Smithton District Hospital and West Coast District Hospital. Our service covers the full scope of maternity care including antenatal clinics, parenting education classes, pregnancy and postnatal assessment services. The Role: Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles. Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day-to-day client-facing activities. Ensure the maintenance of effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders. Provide a high level of clinical knowledge and skill to ensure clinical standards and policies are adhered to. Act as a role model and clinical resource person to provide clinical advice and recommendations. Details of appointment: Multiple Permanent, full time and part time positions available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight. Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Benefits available to eligible candidates: Payment of $15,000 staged over three years for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate. Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees from overseas. Professional development and accelerated pathways. A range of leave entitlements, including study leave. Essential Criteria: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse. Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable). Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (where applicable). Desirable Criteria: Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications.
