Organisation: Portable Long Service Authority Reference: VG/1841459 We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assurance Adviser to join our Corporate Governance team. Reporting directly to the Manager Corporate Governance, you will be responsible for supporting the internal audit program, liaising with internal auditors and ensuring effective risk management. About us The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is an independent statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. About the role The Assurance Adviser will be responsible for: Effectively planning for internal audits, engaging with internal auditors, and collaborating with internal stakeholders. Reviewing and assessing the implementation of low rated internal audit findings, ensuring internal compliance against the risk register is maintained. Supporting an audit culture where audit findings are reported, communicated, and understood, displaying a positive risk culture for the Authority. Assisting the Manager, Corporate Governance in executing other risk, assurance, and governance activities of the Authority. About you To be successful as the Assurance Adviser, you will hold qualifications or have relevant experience in assurance, risk management, public administration, or governance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to produce comprehensive reports and briefs within specified timeframes. You should be proactive and solutions-focused, applying critical thinking and perspective in response to audit recommendations.
