About the Role We're looking for a hands-on bicycle mechanic who will: Assist in managing the workshop. Handle new bike builds and mechanical repairs. Support and lead a small team of mechanics. As a key team member, you'll play an active role in shaping the business, offering honest feedback, and contributing to its growth. Flexibility and a willingness to learn are essential. Assistant Manager - Full-time role, Monday to Friday (9:00 AM–5:30 PM) with occasional Saturdays as needed. The mobile mechanic can be negotiated to be casual, part time or full time. What We’re Looking For Qualifications & Experience: Strong people and communication skills. Extensive experience as a bike mechanic. Physical capability for tasks like moving and storing stock. Problem-solving expertise and a motivated work ethic. Team player with the ability to work independently. A "can-do" attitude and a desire to help others. Confidence in riding bikes and a genuine passion for cycling. Experience in managing people (preferred - however happy to train the right person if they have strong mechanic experience). Bike mechanic certification (a bonus). Key Responsibilities Provide expert mechanic advice to customers. Assist in managing the workshop and coordinating mechanical jobs. Answer phone calls and emails, addressing any issues that arise. Maintain a 30/70 split between admin duties and hands-on mechanical work. Stay up to date with electric bike systems and technology. Manage warranties and parts ordering. Help train and oversee a small team of mechanics. Set up and pack down the store as needed.
