Business Analyst | Regulatory & Compliance About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst for an initial 6-month contract to support a high-priority program focused on Energy Tariff Reform and regulatory compliance within the energy sector. This program is focused on aligning internal processes and systems to comply with AER and AEMO regulations, specifically around energy tariff reforms and other energy market compliance requirements.The role sits within a Customer and Market Operations program, supporting the Customer & Market Systems group in ensuring compliance with evolving energy market regulations, including key changes impacting energy tariffs. You will work alongside cross-functional teams, including technical and business SMEs, to implement system and process changes to meet these regulatory requirements.This is an initial 6-month contract, with the potential for extension. Key Responsibilities Translate AER and AEMO documentation into system and process changes for Energy Tariff Reform compliance; Engage with SMEs to gather and verify business and technical requirements, focusing on tariff reform and market transactions; Ensure alignment between business, technical teams and regulatory bodies through clear communication; Collaborate with testing teams to ensure regulatory requirements are reflected in system configurations and test cases; Maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to track regulatory changes through implementation; Drive improvements in systems related to energy tariffs, billing and market transactions to meet compliance standards; Work with vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery of system and process updates; Track project progress, monitor risks and assist in resolving issues related to compliance and system implementation. Essential Criteria Strong experience in energy market regulations, particularly around energy tariff reforms, AER and AEMO compliance, with an understanding of the impact of these regulations on market systems and customer billing; At least 5 years of experience in Business Analysis, specifically in large, complex environments. Experience with regulatory compliance and energy industry projects is highly desirable; Proven ability to manage relationships with business stakeholders, technical resources, senior management and external vendors. Ability to gather, document and prioritise requirements from multiple sources; Expertise in creating business process models and data models (using tools such as BPMN, UML), with a focus on energy market systems, tariff reform processes and customer billing; Experience working with Customer Information Systems, Meter Data Management systems, Billing Systems and other market systems related to energy transactions; Ability to present complex regulatory concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; Experience working within an Agile environment, with strong end-to-end program delivery experience, particularly in projects with a focus on regulatory compliance.
