As a Business Development Manager – Major Projects in the Sustainable Business Energy Solutions Team , you will be at the forefront of this renewable energy revolution and will be responsible for delivering high-value sales outcomes of energy solutions (primarily Solar, Batteries, and Hybrid Energy Systems) in the Commercial and Industrial sector. In this role, you won't just meet customer expectations; you'll be at the forefront of the Commercial and Industrial sector by owning all stages of the sales funnel, building a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities and ultimately delivering quality sales to exceed targets. You will be working closely with various internal stakeholders including sales, engineering, delivery, and asset management. We're changing the planet for the better, one project at a time! What You’ll Be Doing Leading the Business Development activities for projects including researching large industrial energy consumers and relevant stakeholders within these organisations, maintaining relationships to identify potential renewable energy and hybrid power systems projects; preparation and submission of project documentation and business cases; working with legal and commercial stakeholders to refine contract terms and conditions on a project-by-project basis. Supporting the Project Development activities including defining the scope of work and business for technical feasibility studies of each project; reviewing budgets and schedules and ensuring alignment with the project objectives; identifying, managing, and reporting of key project risks; working to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Developing and actively managing a pipeline of opportunities to meet annual targets in terms of pipeline growth, revenue, and gross margin as well as participating in the assessment of emerging technologies. Ensuring that all Health, Safety, and Environment Systems and goals are introduced and adhered to while meeting the organisation’s policies and standards for HSE Management. Demonstrating the AGL values by acting in the best interests of AGL and working together across the business to create the best overall results and decisions and encouraging the sharing of skills and experience and contributing to the success of the business at all levels. What You’ll Bring Bachelor level tertiary qualification required, preferably in Business, Finance, Commerce, or Engineering, with experience in high-value deal making for projects in excess of $5,000,000 per transaction in similar sales roles, ideally within the energy or resources sector. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the energy market and energy projects space especially in technologies such as solar, wind, batteries, gensets, and control systems. A hunter mentality with demonstrated success in developing and executing sales plans and a record of achieving sales quotas in a B2B environment for industrial businesses and experience working with CRM solutions to report and track pipeline progress. Excellent professional communication skills with Senior Executives of industrial companies, coupled with strong writing skills, and intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office skills. Self-motivated, achievement-oriented, well-disciplined, task-focused with a strong sense of timeliness and the ability to manage complex deals from origination through to project development and contracting.
