Job Description
Estimation / Business Development Manager This business is a moderately sized, well regarded civil contractor that serves tier 1 and 2 contractors in eastern Australia, specializing in civil and mining, infrastructure, and energy projects. The business has recently shifted its focus from low-profit / mature sectors to strengthen its position in high-growth industries such as renewables, mining, energy, and defence. They have built on existing foundations by incorporating innovation and new technologies in their work. They aim to meet client expectations, aspire to be the preferred partner, and complement client strengths with their approach to project delivery. This role is unique and will combine various experiences and skills to deliver strong performance. It is not solely about Estimation nor is it solely about Business Development due to the size of the target market. Your experiences and skills should include some combination of estimation, pre-contracts, business development and project exposure. A background in civil, mining, and energy markets, tender preparation experience in civil infrastructure, and commercial / financial acumen are essential and will ensure you hit the ground running. The role reports to the General Manager and leads a small team. You should be hands-on in style, enjoy building relationships at all levels within the business, and understand how to leverage existing business capabilities. You will also have an appetite to directly seek out new high quality business opportunities in line with the business strategy and help deliver them successfully. How do your skills match this job?
