The Child Protection Liaison Officer (CPLO) works from a child-centred framework, advocating for the needs of children and their families, with the child's right to protection underpinning all care management and delivery. A key component of the role is to support the SCAN (Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect) team. About the role: Provides clear direction to all employees on their responsibilities to recognise, respond and refer or report child protection concerns. Contribute to the development, implementation and review of child protection local policies and procedures. Contribute to the development and review of state-wide documents to support practice and service delivery. Attend Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) meeting as a representative, providing expertise and/or resources to inform discussion and deliberations by the SCAN team core member representatives. Provide expert knowledge within the area of Child Protection. Manage unborn child high risk alerts including participation in care coordination MDT. Help coordinate the complex care needs of children in care by liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure priority access to health care. About you:To be eligible for this position, you must have one of the following: A degree in Social Work with AASW registration. A degree in Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration.
