We are looking for an experienced Claims & Injury Management Advisor to join the NSW Risk & Safety team to manage workers compensation claims and assist our valued team members in their return to work following injury. Exciting new role in our growing Risk & Safety team Work with collaborative & supportive team members and leaders Hybrid working model - Roselands office & comfort of your home office Reporting to the Claims & Injury Management Lead NSW / ACT, the Claims & Injury Management Advisor is responsible for the provision of all aspects of injury and claim management. From initial notification of an injury through to claim finalisation, the role will ensure compliance with NSW legislative and State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) requirements as well as focus on the benefits of return to work and cost control. About the Role: This role encompasses all aspects of claim management, managing the end-to-end operation of workers compensation claims in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as leading the return to work process, supporting a safe and durable return to work outcome for Myer’s injured team members. You will be required to: Proactively manage a small portfolio of claims, applying effective claims and injury management strategies to facilitate return to work outcomes, promote recovery while at work, and mitigate claims costs; Be detail-focused and maintain a strong focus on compliance; Proactively promote recovery and return to work, preparing Injury Management Plans that address risk factors to recovery; Liaise with treatment providers, including allied health professionals, specialists, and the nominated treating doctor; Participate in medical case conferences and worksite visits where necessary; Be thorough in making inquiries to determine entitlements under the Act and prepare written correspondence related to claims management in accordance with NSW legislation; Ensure team members are paid their entitlement, by determining Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE) and weekly compensation payments; Provide coaching and advice to site management to develop capability in early intervention and managing return to work processes; Provide an excellent level of customer service to all stakeholders; Participate in claim strategy sessions with the Risk & Safety team; Participate in claim reviews with site management; While Myer is not self-insured in the ACT, you may also be required at times to assist our two ACT stores with the return to work of injured team members. What you’ll bring: Minimum 2 years experience in managing NSW workers compensation claims; Demonstrated extensive knowledge, understanding, and application of NSW workers compensation legislation, regulation, guidelines, and Standards of Practice; Highly developed interpersonal skills and written communication skills to facilitate all aspects of claims and injury management; Highly developed planning, prioritisation, and organisational skills; Excellent analytical and technical skills; High attention to detail; Experience in review and approval of medical services and treatment requests; Experience in liaising with treatment providers; Experience working in a self-insurance environment is preferred; Relevant qualification in an Allied Health discipline would be highly regarded but not essential; A strong commitment to meeting and exceeding expectations.
