We are excited to invite a dedicated and motivated Injury Management Advisor (maternity leave cover) to join our national team, based in Melbourne, on a full-time, permanent basis. More about this role: As the Injury Management Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting injury management across all dnata Catering & Retail, administering and coordinating rehabilitation programs to ensure the timely and safe return to work of injured and/or ill employees within the local business unit. You will also promote a positive health and safety culture. In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are: Manage the workers compensation function with a focus on proactive injury prevention strategies. Develop and implement initiatives that contribute to overall workers compensation strategic objectives. Drive the return-to-work program and overall management of workers compensation claims within our insurer framework. Improve the overall national workers compensation performance from the applicable industry rate (inflight caterers). Coach management and drive organisational education with regard to responsibilities in relation to relevant legislation. Manage all legal responses, enquiries and representations relating to workers compensation matters and Workers Compensation Court. Manage the Company’s Return to Work (RTW) program, including improvements to the system, policy, process and supporting tools. Ensure that insurers are provided relevant employer information when they are preparing documentation for IME to optimise the quality and relevance of the reports. Manage and develop the injury management coordinator to ensure they can provide leave coverage when required. Contribute to a safety-first environment and work within Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures and guidelines at all times. Develop strategies and methods to reduce time lost and improve the RTW experience, including working with all parties to ensure participation and co-operation for a return-to-work plan. Work to improve the regular reporting processes so that leaders across the business have data that is useful, actionable and able to support decision making. What do you need to be successful in securing this role? Rehabilitation and Return to Work training/qualification or similar. Workers Compensation / Injury Management Coordinator training, Cert IV Personal Injury Management would be an advantage but not required. Demonstrated capability working in a similar position within a multi-site organisation. Understanding of applicable State / Territory Workers compensation schemes (case management experience will be highly regarded). Strong time management skills. Intermediate computer skills. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Able to build effective and influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as an awareness of multi-cultural and diverse workplaces.
