Base Pay Range A$53.00/hr - A$57.00/hr Haven Home Safe is a commercially operated, profit-for-purpose homelessness organisation specialising in housing solutions with the aim of providing hope and care to Victorian communities to prevent homelessness and end housing stress. Our collaborative and hard-working team is now seeking a dedicated Client Care Specialist (Intake and Assessment Officer) to join our Preston office in Victoria, on a casual basis. You will play a crucial role in assisting families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless through the initial assessment and planning of obtaining appropriate accommodation. As one of the first points of contact, your customer-centric focus and helpful nature will ensure a calm, welcoming, and friendly interaction with these clients. Key Responsibilities Undertake crisis intervention and assessment of customers both face to face and over the phone. Implement client strength and solutions-based interventions within appropriate assessments, planning, and review procedures. Provide advice in relation to a range of supports offered within the community. Respond to intake emails and enquiries, undertake an assessment on clients, and provide an interim response and support to clients awaiting case management. Accurately and professionally record customer details and assistance (including brokerage) provided in the Client Management System and other applicable data systems. Participate in collaborative arrangements within the homelessness service sector. Your strong communication skills, empathetic nature, and fantastic interpersonal and negotiation skills will ensure success in this role. You will have a sensitivity to cultural awareness and needs of clients, and an ability to work with limited direction. This is a multi-skilled team environment, with all team members striving to deliver a high quality of customer service to some of the most vulnerable people in the community. Qualifications A formal qualification in related disciplines such as Social Work, Welfare, Social Sciences or other relevant qualifications (highly desirable) or significant experience in a similar position. Demonstrated experience in a dynamic social service setting servicing clients and/or experience working with homeless individuals and families or people experiencing housing crisis. Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.). Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management databases.
