Add expected salary to your profile for insights The Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) has a history of serving multicultural communities since 1976, and of contributing to the development of Queensland as a successful multicultural society. ECCQ delivers culturally appropriate in-home aged care under its Diversicare brand, and residential aged care under its Berlasco brand. In addition, we run a number of advocacy, health & diversity education programs. Our specialised unit, MULTICULTURAL PARTNERS, offers training and support to Aged Care service providers (including CHSP) who work with CALD communities. Purpose of Role The Community Network Officer plays a key role in engaging culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities across Queensland, including rural and remote regions, through community events, public awareness initiatives, and strategic partnerships. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering multicultural events and outreach activities to raise awareness about aged care services, reforms, and support systems available to CALD older individuals and their carers and families in collaboration with experts, service providers, and Government Agencies. A key focus of this position is building and maintaining strong relationships with ethnic and multicultural community leaders, organisations, and service providers across QLD to ensure effective engagement and culturally appropriate service delivery. Key Responsibilities but not limited to: Multicultural Events and Community Engagement (QLD-wide). Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building. Data Collection, Surveys, and Reporting. Translation and Interpreting Coordination. About You Essential knowledge and skills: Strong organisational, planning, and time-management skills, with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively autonomously in a team and with diverse external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online collaboration tools. Willingness to travel throughout Queensland, including rural and remote areas, as required. Experience working within the aged care sector, particularly in CALD-focused services. Demonstrated ability in community engagement, event coordination, and partnership building, preferably in the aged care, health, or not-for-profit sectors. Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in social work, community, communications or related fields is an asset but not compulsory. Applicants should submit their resume and a covering letter.
