Lifeline Darling Downs and South West Queensland Limited (LDDSWQL) has been serving the community of Toowoomba, and the wider South Western Queensland area for 49 years.Summary As our Creative Coping Facilitator you will be responsible for arranging the intake process and co-facilitating the delivery of the Creative Coping program, a practice model for people who have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder or with similar traits who are struggling and have deficits in emotional control, interpersonal effectiveness and reduced distress tolerance.Part Time 60.8hrs per fortnight (0.8) based in Toowoomba CBDFlexible work/life balance About the Program The Creative Coping program runs for a 20-week duration and uses a cognitive-behavioural framework to facilitate group intervention based on Linehan’s Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to foster insight and awareness into symptoms, feelings, and behaviours through psychoeducation, group exercises, discussion, and homework assignments.About the Role As our Creative Coping Facilitator, your duties and key responsibilities will be: Participation with assisting, supporting, and monitoring the delivery and co-facilitation of evidence-based mental health programs for program participants as required. This may include not only the Creative Coping program but also other programs within LDDSWQL. Assisting staff and facilitators with additional support outside the Creative Coping program that is required to deliver quality outcomes for all participants. Assist, implement and undertake evaluations of community-based programs being offered to people experiencing mental health issues to improve the wellbeing of children and young people to increase participation of people in community life to enhance family and community functioning. Ongoing assessment of all program outcomes and practices using evaluation tools to ensure compliance with our organisation's quality assurance requirements including client/stakeholder feedback and other requirements as specified by funding bodies, legislation, organisational requirements and best practice. Engagement with Indigenous and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) families and community groups to develop an understanding of the specialised cultural needs to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with referral sources and other community contacts. Research, develop, build and report on existing programs and associated training in ways that are flexible, creative and which reflect the continually developing needs of families. Attend and actively participate in professional supervision and professional development activities. Key Selection Criteria Essential A completed degree in the Human Services field or other tertiary qualifications in a similar related field of expertise (subject to review and approval in the interview process). Completed or ability to rapidly undertake and complete Dialectical Behaviour Therapy training. Desirable Demonstrated experience and ability to provide and articulate a professional framework for delivering Dialectical Behavioural Therapy skills training. Demonstrated understanding of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and the skills involved in delivering this training. Demonstrated experience or ability to provide therapeutic skills-based training to individuals. Demonstrated commitment to working within a professional team or independently, with an ability to articulate the key principles and processes for good team dynamics. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining safe working environments and personal/professional growth through supervision of self, including a commitment to an appropriate level of self-care. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of Employment Equity, Ethical Conduct and Work Health & Safety. Demonstrated high level communication skills both verbal and written, with an emphasis on effective interpersonal skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
