Job Description
Talent Street is looking for a Data Migration Analyst for one of our Victorian State government clients. Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Migration Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in data migration, analysis, and transformation projects, with a strong background in Microsoft Fabric and business intelligence (BI) tools. This role involves ensuring the seamless migration of data between systems while maintaining data quality, integrity, and performance standards. Key Responsibilities: Data Migration Planning and Execution: Design and implement end-to-end data migration strategies using Microsoft Fabric . Analyse source and target systems to map data structures and ensure compatibility. Create, validate, and execute migration scripts and workflows. Data Analysis and Transformation: Perform data profiling to identify data quality issues and inconsistencies. Collaborate with stakeholders to define transformation rules and requirements. Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and adherence to business standards. BI Tools Utilization: Develop reports and dashboards using Power BI or other BI tools to monitor and validate migration success. Support the integration of BI solutions with migrated data for enhanced analytics. Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, business analysts, and project managers. Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for data mapping, migration processes, and project progress. Testing and Validation: Conduct pre- and post-migration testing to validate data accuracy and integrity. Address issues promptly, ensuring successful migration within deadlines. Qualifications: Experience: 3-6 years of hands-on experience in data migration, ETL processes, and data analysis. Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric and its integration capabilities. Strong expertise in Power BI or similar BI tools for reporting and visualization. Experience with SQL and data transformation tools. Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot migration challenges. Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud platforms like Azure. Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards. Certification in Microsoft Fabric or BI tools is a plus.
