Queensland Corrective Services (Organisation site)Queensland Corrective Service Academy; People Capability; Workforce Culture Integrity and Capability; Wacol The Director, Operations Training reports to the Chief Superintendent, Capability and Development, and is responsible and accountable for leading and managing the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of training and development functions aligned with the needs of QCS staff within the key frontline operational areas of Community Corrections, Specialist Operations and Custodial Operations. The position is a member of the Academy management team. As the Director, Operations Training you will be required to: Lead the design, development and implementation of a contemporary training strategy for Community Corrections, Specialist Operations and Intelligence programs with input and partnerships of key stakeholders, including senior management, QCS Executives and staff. Embed the development and implementation of recommendations relevant to the training of QCS staff arising from internal and external reviews including the Flaxton, Sofranoff - Parole and the QCS Intelligence review. Consult where necessary with internal staff and relevant external parties in the design, management and delivery of programs to ensure such programs meet the needs of QCS operational staff. Maintain key performance indicators of training effectiveness and make changes as required. Ensure that accredited training complies with RTO and VQF standards and oversee annual compliance audits that align with our RTO obligations. Work with the business to develop efficient training strategies and lead change initiatives that ensure transformation efforts are successful. Lead the effective scoping, engagement and management of partnerships with external training providers and subject experts that may contribute to the overall effectiveness and relevance of training program. Manage, coach and mentor training facilitators within the team to optimise their capability as trainers. Analyse organisational training needs across Community Corrections, Specialist Operations and Intelligence to inform appropriate training strategies through the application of instructional design methodologies. Establish an annual training program calendar. Establish continuous improvement processes, utilising input from both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the validity, relevance and quality of training and development programs for community corrections staff is maintained at a high level. Contribute to the annual budget formulation for the training to be developed and manage the budget expenditure. Assist in the development of online learning resources. Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of the QCS Learning Management System (LMS). Manage the statewide delivery and oversight of quality, consistent and responsive operational training, general training and refresher courses that have had their content and curriculum established by the Academy. Contribute to ensuring the Department's Registered Training Organisation RTO's accreditation. Applications to remain current for 12 months.
