About the role: The Director of Data Management and Business Intelligence at V/Line will play a crucial role in transforming the use of data within V/Line. This position involves aligning our data strategy with long-term business goals, overseeing data governance, quality, and architecture, ensuring that data is leveraged as a strategic asset. The role requires collaboration with senior leaders and stakeholders to drive impactful outcomes and enhance business and customer experiences through data insights and AI adoption. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a robust data strategy. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Drive V/Line’s transformation to a data-driven culture. Lead the Data Management and Business Intelligence team. Promote an agile and collaborative environment. Ensure the integration of technological advances to support V/Line’s strategic direction. About you: Proven leader and strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in data management and analytics. Exceptional ability to educate and influence stakeholders on the importance of data strategy and its implementation. Skilled in leveraging data assets to provide analytics that enhances organisational performance and efficiency. Extensive experience in developing data strategies, leading data science practices, data roadmaps and implementing business intelligence systems, including AI. Strong knowledge of data governance, privacy laws, and security audits. Demonstrated experience in leading teams, promoting continuous improvement, and fostering a positive team culture. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficient in report writing, negotiation, and liaison. Committed to delivering an exceptional collaborative customer-focused experience. Willingness to learn the technical aspects of operational and asset management requirements. Dedicated to supporting day-to-day business operations, maintaining compliance measures, and ensuring the efficient operation of building infrastructure. Adept at mitigating risks and ensuring the integrity, security, and accessibility of data across the organisation.
