This community-controlled organisation partners with a network of Indigenous peak bodies and experts to drive system-wide change and deliver meaningful impact. Based in Canberra with flexible working arrangements, you will have 6-8 direct reports and report directly to the CEO. About the Role The Director of Policy and Impact is a leadership position responsible for managing multiple projects, conducting expert policy research, and formulating actionable recommendations. This role involves driving research and policy agenda, ensuring high-quality outputs, and supporting the organization's mission to enhance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes. Key Responsibilities Research & Development (40%) : Lead research programs, develop project concepts, and ensure high-quality project management. Policy Development (20%) : Develop new research concepts, identify health trends affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and draft funding proposals. Team Leadership (15%) : Supervise and mentor staff, manage contractors, conduct performance reviews, and oversee policy budgets. External Engagement (10%) : Present research findings, engage with stakeholders, and moderate webinars. Network Building (10%) : Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government, advocacy groups, and community leaders. Professional Development (5%) : Participate in training and career growth opportunities. About You You bring extensive experience in leading research programs, managing high-performing teams, securing funding, and influencing policy. It is desirable if you possess in-depth knowledge of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health sector and are committed to fostering meaningful change.
