Divisional Engineering Officer - Hammond Hammond Island, Australia Based on TSIRC Division 8 - Hammond Island What we offer: Full-time Permanent (38 hours/week Mon - Fri) 6 Weeks Annual Leave (FTE) with 17.5% leave loading Leading Hand Allowance TSIRC Public Holidays Opportunities for professional growth and development Uniforms About the role As the Divisional Engineering Officer , you will oversee the operations and maintenance of Engineering functions including: water, wastewater (sewerage), roads, drainage, parks, gardens, airports, seaports, and other infrastructure assets of Council ensuring that there is a proactive approach to maintenance requirements and that there is a continuous commitment to work towards sustainability of the community and council infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Plan and organise the daily tasks for engineering officers by the utilisation of staff work plans in each of the Engineering Services functions. Ensure Aerodrome inspections and maintenance is undertaken as per Council procedures, CASA Regulations, Manual of Standards, circulars, and guidance notes for the aerodrome. All defects and incidents are reported as per Council procedures, CASA Regulations, Manual of Standards, circulars, and guidance notes for the aerodrome. Defects and incidents must be reported to Council's Airport Manager immediately. Oversee the effective operation of the water treatment plant, pumping stations, water storage lagoon and associated plant and equipment in accordance with relevant regulations and operations manuals. Carry out routine inspections of all engineering assets, such as water supply pumps, by the way of visual inspections and discussion with relevant Engineering Officer. Document inspections and report to Operations Manager/Functional Manager including any defects detected immediately. Ensure the effective operation of sewerage pumping stations, sewerage treatment plant and the sewage reticulation system and that Environmental Relevant Activity License Conditions are adhered to. Ensure that any incidents and/or breach of license is reported to Functional Manager and relevant environmental authority. Attend and assist with training programs and provide instructions for and mentor engineering officers. To be considered for this position you must: Hold Current "C" class, Type "Provisional" or higher Queensland Drivers license is essential. Minimum of Certificate III in Water Industry Operations, Civil Operations or equivalent trade qualification (e.g. Civil Construction, waste) is desirable. Current Construction Industry General Induction Card is desirable. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office. Previous experience leading a team. Good organisational skills.
