About The Role As the Domestic Market Development Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving domestic demand of Australian avocados by focusing on three key areas: Quality – Ensuring Australian consumers enjoy high-quality avocados at retail. Supply – Enhancing understanding of short- and long-term supply dynamics within the value chain. Marketing – Supporting levy-funded and retailer-driven marketing initiatives to align with seasonal forecasts and strategic insights. You’ll collaborate with researchers and consultants to implement strategies that improve avocado quality at the retail level, while engaging with various stakeholders across the value chain to increase demand. Additionally, you’ll play a pivotal role in: Leveraging the avocado industry’s data program to drive informed decision-making. Sharing seasonal insights with key customers and aligning marketing campaigns with market intelligence. Supporting R&D projects in areas such as sustainability, market development, and competitive business models. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role works closely with stakeholders across the avocado supply chain to deliver impactful results. About You To be able to succeed in this role, you’ll bring: Relevant tertiary qualifications At least 2-3 years of experience in the fresh food sector Strong interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels Proven ability to manage multiple activities and prioritise effectively A deep understanding of Australian fresh produce supply chains and domestic markets Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate. Resilience and adaptability Ability to travel when required Desirable: Experience in fresh produce marketing or supply chain management. Exposure to not-for-profit, member-based organisations.
