Economic & Community Development Manager • Important Economic Development & Grants focussed role • Supportive & welcoming team & community • $98,774 – $113,344 p/a plus Super, MV & Housing Allowance Wudinna District Council is located on the central Eyre Peninsula, with a population of 1,136. The Council area incorporates the townships of Warramboo, Kyancutta, Yaninee, Minnipa with Wudinna being the main service centre. Wudinna is located on the Eyre Highway, 565kms (approx. 5.5 hours) west of Adelaide. The local industries include wheat and sheep farming, tourism and small businesses. Wudinna District Council has a close knit and welcoming team of 22 people, with every member valued by Council and the local community. Reporting to the CEO and part of the Senior Management Team, the key objectives of this important role include: Initiation, coordination, and implementation of economic development activities and community projects within the district. Securing grants and other funding sources, ensuring resources are allocated and utilised appropriately to support projects and initiatives aligned with the Council’s strategic, economic and community development objectives and plans. Driving strategies to support the current and future enhancement of health and wellbeing within the community through community planning, tourism, heritage, community promotion, youth development, sport and recreation and the Arts. Ideally tertiary qualified, you will have a demonstrable background of success in a relevant/similar role/s, effectively utilising your economic development, grants and community development expertise to deliver improvement and great outcomes for those you serve. With well developed communication skills (written and verbal), you will be innovative, proactive and resourceful, and skilled at building wide reaching relationships and strong strategic partnerships to benefit the community and region. Local government experience will be an advantage but not essential, and some out of hours work and travel will be required. Prior experience living and working in a remote/rural community will help ensure success and longevity, along with a commitment to living and sharing Council’s Values.
