Position Details: Temporary full-time for up to 6 months with the view to ongoing employment, 35 hours per week $81,156 – $92,307 per annum (depending on skills and experience), plus an all-incidence allowance of $7,634 per annum, an employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading Based in Miranda, NSW Applications are invited for the position of Electorate Officer in the Office of Eleni Petinos MP, Member for Miranda and Shadow Minister for Finance and Shadow Minister for Sport. The Miranda Electorate Office is the point of contact for constituents and local community groups to engage with the Member for Miranda regarding state government services and responsibilities. The role would suit a highly motivated person who is able to work independently with a capacity to respond in a timely manner to changing circumstances. About the Position: Managing constituent correspondence within the office, regularly assisting residents with queries both in person and online and assisting, organising and attending (with the Member) community engagement activities and events. Liaising with government, community and portfolio stakeholders. Undertake research and assist with portfolio work as it relates to the shadow finance and sport portfolios including the drafting of policy speeches, briefing notes and information packs. Speech writing including questions on notice, notices of motion, community recognition statements and private members’ statements. Drafting media releases and talking points for community and portfolio events. Providing short, medium and long-term strategic advice to the Member about a wide range of issues. The role requires after hours work for which an annual All Incidence of Employment Allowance is paid. The Ideal Applicant Should Possess the Following Skills and Experience: Strong research and analytical skills and attention to detail essential. Ability to multi-task, deliver outcomes on tight timeframes and adapt to changing priorities under limited supervision and within a team environment. A high-level of competence in computer systems including MS Word, Outlook and Excel. Good communication skills, both written and oral.
