Event Consultant / Account Manager - Events Industry At Social we’re proud to service the lively events industry with premium event hire, stylish furniture and the latest trends in tableware. With a head office in Port Melbourne, and second branch on the Gold Coast, we service the Eastern Seaboard with all their event needs. We’ve been hiring kitchenware, furniture, and catering equipment to some of Australia’s most exciting events and beautiful homes for over 25 years. To expand our brand reputation and market share, we are looking for a creative and driven event professional to join our Sales team taking on the role of Event Consultant . We are looking for someone who understands the events industry, is ultra-organised, and as passionate about furniture and tableware as we are. The successful candidate must be creative, have great presentation and organisational skills, be a team player, and be confident in a fast-paced sales environment. Working within our sales team and utilising our current stock offering, the successful candidate will follow client briefs and requests, enter and administer a high volume of sales quotes, and attend event sites and client meetings. Our industry is highly seasonal, with summer months spent converting a high level of sales, and the low season focused on customer relationship management and building business through new and existing client meetings. This is an office-based sales role; working from home is not permitted. Build and nurture strong relationships with new and existing clients through excellent customer service, expert guidance, and seamless execution on their events. Follow client event briefs and quote requests, accurately administer quotes and communicate effectively with the client. Offer event design concepts, floor plans, and mood boards to effectively communicate ideas. Work with our purchasing and operations team to plan and prep equipment for events. Regularly contact and meet with account clients to discuss upcoming events, opportunities, and their event hire needs. Perform site visits, client meetings, and host clients in the showroom. Provide daily/weekly/monthly reporting back to senior management. Requirements of this role: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar sales role within the events industry, clearly displaying skills in time management and creativity. Be a team player who can guide and assist team members to achieve team targets while also being self-disciplined and motivated to achieve individual targets. Offer practical solutions, thrive in high-pressure environments, and adopt company procedures and processes. Ability to work weekends and travel interstate on occasions.
